About LEAF

What is LEAF?
Local Ecology and Agriculture Fremont (LEAF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing environmental education to the Fremont community about sustainable and ecological practices, including local food production and organic gardening, waste reduction, green building, and resource conservation.

LEAF is currently working with other Fremont community organizations to start neighborhood gardens. Over 400 people have already joined and many of them have accumulated some dirt under their fingernails by pitching in with several gardens around town.

LEAF is funded through a combination of private donations and a grant from StopWaste.Org.

Volunteer with LEAF and you will get to:

  • Meet new people!
  • Learn from your elders, your neighbors, your peers, or youth!
  • Get hands on experience with sustainable gardening practices!
  • Be an active member of your local community!
  • Share in the growing, harvesting, and eating of fresh, healthy produce!
  • Play in the dirt!

How can I participate?
Attend one of our regular weekend work parties:

Share your ideas with other LEAF members by participating in discussion forums and posting blogs, and email LEAF at FremontLEAF@gmail.com regarding any useful resources or connections you might have.

Let others know about LEAF and encourage them to join.

For any additional inquiries, email LEAF at FremontLEAF@gmail.com.
