I get lots of oranges every year. I struggle to pick them, and usually donate them to the Salvation Army in Newark as they have a community food pantry. But, I don't get to all the oranges. I use free-cycle too. I was thinking, would it be appropriate to host a you-pick LEAF event for kids?

I think doing you-pick events would be awesome! is this something you would be interested in helping to set up?
Permalink Reply by Angela Akridge on April 17, 2012 at 7:26pm I'd totally be willing to coordinate such an event. Thanks for the encouragement. I actually have two trees: plum and orange. The plum tree requires hand picking, so I don't know how feasible that is for kids. But, the orange tree just requires pickers, and I have one. As soon as my oranges look good and ripe, I'll post the event, assuming my backyard retaining wall project is complete by then. Fingers crossed.
