This garden group is being formed by parents of students at Mattos Elementary School in Fremont. Mattos is a Science Magnet school. We are working on reducing noontime food waste, going paperless with weekly folders, and having fun doing it!

I encourage everyone to take advantage of the different classes offered through this site. They are very informative. I'm attending the class at the Library on Monday Nov 8th. I will bring a copy of the Approved Plant List for the school to use as a guide.

The following are details on upcoming composting workshop:

When: Oct 22nd, 4pm - 5pm
Where: Fremont Main Library, Fukaya Room A
What: Learn about backyard and worm composting.
Raffling for compost bin and other gardening items.
Fun for the entire family.
Live red worms and hands on activities for kids.

The City of Fremont has approved our plans to build community gardens in the old Mission Adobe Nursery, but this plan is contingent on our ability to raise $30,000.
