Apologies for arriving late for lunch yesterday. It was my day to serve. If you happen to be in the area this evening, stop by, I'll make it up to you. We will be celebrating a birthday this evening, with food, of course! A few different pasta dishes will be served as well as hot dogs for the kids. Marie

Hi, all. After all of you left today, Marie and I pulled up a few potato plants because I wanted to see if the disease that attacked the leaves had also attacked the underground potatoes (if any). I am happy to report that we dug up some beautiful new potatoes!! We will wait until this coming Saturday to harvest some more so that everybody can share in the crop. See you next week!!
And, thanks for all your help, Beatrice, Anthony, Andrei and Sarika.

Good news! The neighbors on the other side of the fence are hiring a tree service to take care of the gigantic hedge. I met their realitors yesterday when they came over to look at the hedge from our side. Nice folks!

We have a new visitor (and future LEAF volunteer!) stopping by this morning with some things for the garden. His name is John and he will be donating a lawn mower, a garden hose, a hose holder, and some heirloom tomato plants. We may need a new garden shed pretty soon!

P.S. I will bring some twine Saturday (if I don't forget) so that we can tie beanpole tepees together....
