Starving Trees in the Park - keep an eye out

here is a message from Nelson :

Can you please alert the members regarding the trees at the California Nursery Company Historic Park no longer receiving irrigation during the hot summer months.

I took a walk through the nursery last Wednesday 6/15. I noticed the irrigation system is only feeding the Rose Garden and Vallejo Adobe. The trees in ther nursery have not been without water since the early 1970s. Keep your eyes open and make a note if any trees are stressing. Superintendent Kyle Kramer can be emailed at

kkramer@ci.fremont.ca.us

Send him an email if you notice any trees that are stressed out from lack of water. He is a busy man and any heads up to him would be appreciated.

Thanks , Michael

FYI - there has been a mountain lion sighted on Rancho Arroyo which is right next to the California Nursery site.

Happy Holidays, everybody.

This past Thursday Judy and I weeded the raised beds.  The plants are all growing quite well, although suffering some slug/snail damage.  Judy spread a great pile of chips and the City dumped another pile of clippings for us.

How is the Rose garden map coming, Michael?

Take care,

Bonnie

Hi, Michael, again,
I managed to get it on one page, although I got 5 extra pages of unnecessary stuff with it!!
Yeah, technology.

Hi, Michael,
Could you please make the Rose Garden diagram into a size and format that can be printed on one piece of 8 1/2" by 11" paper? I will adopt one or two plots but would like to take a printed diagram to the garden with me.
Thanks!! And Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family,
Bonnie

Want to help us maintain and protect this beautiful historic nursery and park? Adopt a rose garden plot, you still can see some rose pedals to identify color of the differnet areas. see the map above for available plots.

I was traveling over the weekend and last week and just tonight stopped by at the greenhouse garden. Nice job cleaning everything up ....
The slugs are after the brassicas and i put out some Sluggo ( thats a non toxic iron phosphate) and put some birdnetting over the remaining greenhouse seedlings (not sure what it does , but makes me feel better )
