There was an overall appreciation for the garden from members of MPUUC.
The kids also enjoyed helping in the garden during Sunday service, though we also understand that we cannot count on the kids to harvest.
Concerns are regarding very limited involvement in garden chores from MPUUC members. Suggestion was made to have a schedule of what needs to be done online so people have clear guidelines. We also need to have a schedule of who will harvest the vegetables for the next season.
This will be placed on the LEAF Washington garden site. We will try to find some active gardeners from LEAF that might be interested in working at this garden site.
We will move the LEAF sign to the front of the parking lot to be more visible for everyone.
Need to clarify the combined LEAF/MPUUC garden with members from MPUUC.
We had an incident during the summer where a LEAF gardener was told that all the vegetables will go to MPUUC garden share table. (currently the volunteers are donating the harvest to the garden share table)
This will be done via article in MPUUC newsletter and an announcement in the Sunday service at MPUUC.
Many thanks go to Allyson McDonald who has been taking the left over vegetables to the Milpitas Food Pantry. We also have donated vegetables to Sunrise Village.
The group agrees that 2/3 of the harvest goes to volunteers, 1/3 to LEAF (once they have identified distribution/sale of the vegetables).
Susanne will find out how much money the garden share table made for MPUUC and how to get some money back for seedlings (not all proceeds from the garden share table come from this garden)
