A large pile of wood chips was dumped yesterday in the uncleared field adjacent to the Community Garden. Merna Morse of the Methodists says that a gardener friend of hers periodically disposes of tree chewings there, and they can be used as ground cover/weed displacement or for any other gardening use. So, enjoy!

I will bring the tiller on the 21st and if we have the time we can use it or it can be done later. I will just be a worker bee that day helping with whatever needs to happen. I did go by the site last weekend to check it out and it seems to be in a great spot for sunlight. There is water and a compost container which is great.

Michael and Bruce will be in charge of directing activities on the work days so anyone should check with them before doing something at the garden site.

Steve - How much we can get done on the 21st is only limited to how many vounteers we have and how long people want to work. We have access to the garden 24 hours a day so you can drop stuff off anytime. However, it would be best not to rototil between the hours of 10-11:30 am on Sunday since that is when both church services will be in session. We also have to be careful to figure out where the water lines, etc. are so that we don't rototil up something important.

I have a heavy duty 17'' rototiller that I would like to bring over to the UU garden and help in turning up the soil. Do you think that some of the tilling could be done on the 21st after the other items for that day are completed? Or if it has to be done on the 28th how early would there be access to that location?
