Hi Jenny,
I got your message about the water issue at the Washington Garden. I dropped by there after work to check it out. I am pretty sure the problem was that the 2 AAA batteries were getting low on juice so I replaced them and I was able to run the system on manual for about 30 min while I was there and I did some hand watering as well to make sure. The timer is set for between 30-45 min once every 24hrs but I do not know when it comes on as it is a very basic timer. Let me know if there are any more problems. Thanks, Steve

hey you! glad to have you join the garden. I will be out of town this weekend Jenny but hope to get on track with this schedule of mine soon. The hours are soooooo early! and I have to remember to make myself get to bed early. 4 to 5 hours sleep just isn't cutting it. Have a good weekend. Enjoyed picking black berries with you last weekend. I think its going to be difficult between our schedules to make jam together. Enjoy!

good you got some green beans and thanks for the weeding.
We finished weeding the keyhole bed and the flower bed yesterday and staked up the tomatoes. Carrots, peppers, squash and basil had been harvested yesterday as well.
I checked on the watering of the eggplants and got that fixed. I need to get out there end of the week so spray the eggplants with some soap to get rid of whatever critters are chewing on them.

Hi Jenny! I am a member of Mission Peak UU Congregation (MPUUC) that co-sponsors the Washington garden with LEAF. I am not very involved with the garden, but I usually see someone working on Sunday morning by around 9:30 - often Valerie Stewart or Susanna Joss. If you contact one of them, or just come, I'm sure they could bring you up to speed. I believe Susanna is coordinating summer help in the garden, but they have been on vacation, so maybe that's why you didn't hear from anyone. I know someone will be there this weekend if you want to just show up and wing it! Thanks for volunteering!

Wonderful! And no we didn't talk about the fact the you have worked with a non-profit before. Very impressive and I am sure you will be a welcomed addition as a bookkeeper for LEAF. If accepted for the position keep in mind that if at any time you need help there too with their accounting I would be happy to assist. As you know I am just trying to get on my feet again myself so I need to keep my focus on that for now.

see you soon....

Hi Jenny,

Welcome aboard! There are several gardens now in Fremont. There may be one close to you. The one here in Nile that I take part in is only one block from my house.

Knowing that you are also a bookkeeper, did you see the request to have a bookkeeper on the Leaf staff?
