Walter Husmann said… Hi, this is Walter Husmann. I want to thank you for your warm welcoming comments and I am excited about the prospect of getting more involved with LEAF. I am very busty on weekends because those days I work many hours, but during the week I am often free to do things and I am quite a hard worker so I will be happy to help those days in any way I can. To answer your question, "Yes, I would like to be placed on the waiting list for a community garden plot." IO will see ifg I can make it down to the LEAF booth at the Earth Day event so I can say Hello in person. Any way, Thanks again!

Hyunsook Kang said… I am so glad to find LEAF! I have been trying to grow fruits and veggies in my small back yard, so any information will be great. I can't wait to attend one of the workshop. How can I find out when and where you have next workshop?
Thank you,

Susan Hadley said… Hello Mia, Thanks for the shout ! I joined leaf for a few reasons, I grew up in Livermore, and Niles holds some great memories for me . When I was a teenager my friends and I would spend alot of time there swimming, hiking, and just enjoying the beauty of the area . Now that I live in Oakland (mostly for the weather ! ) I miss gardening in the heat, where things like tomatos, peppers and squash actually fruit ! Tracy Gilbert , a great friend of mine , has been volenteering there and has told me alot about the operation and how it works. I was intrigued . I am a Master Composter, also I am certified in Permaculture design and installation . I would love to design a workshop, I saw that you had a composting one recenly, but there is always more to learn . I've been super busy helping people with sping gardens, but hope to make it down soon ! Thanks again, Susan
Marcus Forbes Landon said… Thank you for the welcome. I am excited to learn more about organic farming. My dad and I just planted 15 fruit trees in the backyard, an assortment of berries, and built three raised planter beds. We want to grow everything organically. If you guys need any help, I would love to lend my skills.
Shari Gent said… Thank you, Mia for the warm welcome. I actually have been a member of LEAF for several years but for some reason the website didn't recognize me so I rejoined. Am looking forward to the work day next Saturday. It promises to be a beautiful, sunny day! Shari
